2026 General Election

The City of Wimberley's 2026 General Election will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026. 

The following City Council positions will be filled in the upcoming General Election: Mayor (Jim Chiles, Current Office Holder), City Council Place Two (Bo Bowman, Current Office Holder) and City Council Place Four (Bob Clark, Current Office Holder).

Qualifications for Office: Type A, General Law City (Local Government Code, Section 22.032)

Mayor

  • Residence - 1 year in state prior to the filing deadline; 1 year in city prior to election day
  • Age - 18
  • Must be a registered voter in the county elected from by the filing deadline

City Council Member

  • Residence - 1 year in state prior to filing deadline; 6 months in the city prior to filing deadline
  • Age - 18
  • Must be a registered voter in the county elected from by the filing deadline

The period for filing an application for a place on the City of Wimberley 2026 General Election begins on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, and ends on Friday, February 13, 2026, by 5 pm.

Please note, as a candidate for public office, you are encouraged to read and become familiar with the information relating to campaign laws and procedures included in the packet.   Please be advised that the City Secretary's Office will be able to assist you with questions relating to the filing requirements for certain election-related documents.  However, the City Secretary's Office is unable to help candidates with the completion of such documents or pass judgment regarding the sufficiency and timeliness of their required filing.
