2026 General Election
The City of Wimberley's 2026 General Election will be held Saturday, May 2, 2026.
The following City Council positions will be filled in the upcoming General Election: Mayor (Jim Chiles, Current Office Holder), City Council Place Two (Bo Bowman, Current Office Holder) and City Council Place Four (Bob Clark, Current Office Holder).

Qualifications for Office: Type A, General Law City (Local Government Code, Section 22.032)
Mayor
- Residence - 1 year in state prior to the filing deadline; 1 year in city prior to election day
- Age - 18
- Must be a registered voter in the county elected from by the filing deadline
City Council Member
- Residence - 1 year in state prior to filing deadline; 6 months in the city prior to filing deadline
- Age - 18
- Must be a registered voter in the county elected from by the filing deadline
The period for filing an application for a place on the City of Wimberley 2026 General Election begins on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, and ends on Friday, February 13, 2026, by 5 pm.

However, the City Secretary's Office is unable to help candidates with the completion of such documents or pass judgment regarding the sufficiency and timeliness of their required filing.
