Road Maintenance Plan

The City of Wimberley manages approximately 32 miles of roadways within its jurisdiction. The city’s road maintenance plan aims to preserve and improve the conditions of existing roadways by monitoring the state of its roadways and systematically repairing or repaving the top layers of City streets as needed.

The city engineering firm recently completed a road inventory that prioritizes street maintenance based on the structural pavement condition of our roadways.  Pavement Condition Assessments are performed city wide and ranked on a scale reflecting the pavement’s structural condition.

We will use these assessments to prioritize areas in most urgent need of repair and resurfacing. As a municipality that does not collect a property tax, it has been a challenge maintaining roads throughout the city.  Over the past several months, city staff has reviewed various financing options that would allow us to make much needed improvements to our roadways.  The City seeks your feedback and input to look at potential income sources to help fund these road projects.
