Hotel Occupancy Tax

A 7 percent Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) was approved unanimously by City Council on December 2, which will be effective April 1, 2022. At that time, the City will begin collecting the tax from lodging owners within the city limits and in the city’s extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ). Lodging owners charge the tax as a separate line item to tourists who stay overnight. To read the press release click here.

Collection

Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) in the City is administered by HdL Lodging Tax. All filings and registration are completed by HdL's HOT Processing Center.

HOT Fund Application 

Completed applications will be accepted online by submitting to hotfunds@cityofwimberley.com. The City of Wimberley is pursuing ways to “go green” and reduce the amount of paper and storage, email is the preferred method of receiving the application and required documents.
